TGIF

Well, the guys got back around 10:30 PM Wednesday night. They had a blast, and can't wait to go back and pick up the boat! They found a campsite very near the Ranger plant, so they want to camp this next time. There are lots of mountains, streams, and rivers there that are cool and clear, and they want to swim and fish in them, bringing towels and fishing gear this time.

In other news, we've got DH's old truck for sale, the '98 Ford F-150. It runs great, and for a 10-11 year old truck, is a bargain at $4800, in my opinion. DH got a new Toyota Tundra Crew Max, 4-door, navy blue, w/ a flat cover on the bed. That is one bad-boy truck, and we all love riding in it. And of course, it looks good in front of his Ranger! Can't get any color to clash with the boat!

I'm going to take the kids to see Wall-E today. It looks cute, although I've heard from some that it's a thinly-disguised environmental lesson about garbage. But, I hear that from people who haven't 'seen it, and the ones who have seen it love it. So we're going. And I see nothing wrong with reducing the amount of trash we produce, so if that is a lesson, great. I'll let you know what I think.

I've got some chicken breasts (w/ bone and skin) marinating in a jerk sauce of sorts for supper tonight. I couldn't find any jerk "sauce", only dry jerk "seasoning." So I took some of my homemade Watermelon BBQ Sauce, and added jerk seasoning to it, along w/ garlic and lemon juice, some sliced fresh onion, salt, and pepper. The jerk seasoning has an excellent flavor! Yes, it's a little spicy. Tony Chachere's is salty and spicy; that's the main flavors I taste. But this jerk seasoning was a coarser grind, spicy, salty, and much more complex! I may have found something I really like tinkering with! I've long eschewed spice blends, instead choosing to "blend my own." Well, I'm bored of my own, and have been quite impressed with some of the blends on the market. For instance, I really like McCormick's Montreal Steak Seasoning, Jane's Crazy Mixed-Up Salt (good luck finding it!), and Paul Prudhomme's BBQ spice rub (it tastes like powdered BBQ sauce)! If you need a change, give any of those 3 a try.

Hey! We are going to see "Wall-E" today, too. We saw "Mama Mia" yesterday. It's a corny storyline, but a lot of fun and M. Streep is fabulous! Worth seeing as a "Feel-Good" movie. - Enjoy!
