Spring? Sprung? Scratch that.

For the second time in a week, we will be getting snow and sleet tonight. The wind blows briskly, and then those white flakes appear. As someone growing up in a climate where it rarely snowed, and never stuck, I still enjoy watching it come down. I marvel that I actually own real estate in a locale where it snows. But enough is enough. It's time for Spring!

March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. It's roaring right now, metaphorically speaking. I guess this saying is indeed true. We'll see how mild the weather has become in another 3 weeks. Spring officially starts in 2 weeks. And I'm tired of wearing sweatshirts, jeans, and tennis shoes. I'm ready to wear t-shirts, shorts and flip flops, my usual spring/summer uniform. I'm ready to get my hands dirty and plant a garden again this year. And I'm tired of sleeping under what feels like12" thick of comforter and blankets.

So I sit here with my mug of hot tea, laughing at myself for thinking Spring was not far away. The Bradford pear trees are in shock, their little white blossoms hitting the ground under them. No new leaves yet. We're all on a holding pattern.
