DH went for his post-op check-up today, and the doctor said he is looking very well. The nurse said some patients who do not rinse their sinuses regularly wind up getting them "vacuumed" by the doctor when they come for the post-op! Egads, the thought of that makes my eyelids twitch! But DH is healing nicely and he has been cleared to sneeze and blow his nose gently.
I made Crepes Suzette for dessert tonight. The kids were fascinated with the super-thin pancakes, and had fun saying "crap" and not getting in trouble for it. I used a recipe from Bobby Flay off of Food Network dotcom. One person rating the recipe said that Bobby Flay must have lifted this recipe off of a street vendor in Paris. Since I have a partiality to street vendor food, this was all the recommendation I needed! I don't have any orange liqueur on-hand, so I used orange oil in the crepe batter and just skipped it in the orange sauce. Still very good. Check out the recipe and reviews here: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/bobby-flay/crepes-suzette-recipe2/index.html
In other news, I'm leaving Sunday to drive with 2 friends down to Galveston, TX, and take a girls-only cruise, and we'll be home late Saturday, I'm so excited, I can't wait for Sunday to arrive! I've never been on a cruise before and am anxious to check it all out. Ports of call will be Progresso/Yucatan and Cozumel. DH and I have been scuba diving in Cozumel 16 or so years ago, so I'm anxious to see how it has changed compared to what I remember. My son was especially disappointed he wasn't going when I let it slip that the cruise ship has a 24-hour Pizzeria and Ice Cream Parlor. Since all food is included in the cost of the cruise, there is no additional charge for either. I can picture him now, wanting to go down at midnight for a slice of pepperoni and a chocolate sundae! I think once I get home, I will plan a family cruise for us. The prices are very reasonable.

Trust me, they nickel and dime you to death on a cruise. It's not as cheap as you think. None of the drinks are free, not even sodas. I can't remember if the water is free or not. I'm so excited for you! have a great time!!
