Oooh, I just hate typing the word taxes. If I thought it would do any good, I'd organize a Boston Tea Party of sorts right here. I'm not sure what we'd throw into Lake Worth in protest, but those in charge would know of my angst, that's for sure.
So, January has ended, meaning all 2007 tax year documents should have already arrived to us. Normally we take forever to file taxes, filing a couple of extensions each year, just letting that monkey ride our backs ad nauseum. Not this year. Why? Because I'm in charge of taxes this year! All I have to gather up are receipts for charitable giving (that is, deductions!) and send it all to our CPA. Can't wait to get that done, and this week is the week to do it.
We also found out because property taxes are so high in Texas, the Feds allow a special deduction of around $600 for Texas residents! We may end up re-filing the prior years' taxes, too, just to get that back. Wait! I hear music! Do you hear it?
Should five percent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all
If you drive a car-car I'll tax the street
If you try to sit-sit I'll tax your seat
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat
If you take a walk I'll tax your feet
Cause I'm the Tax Man
Yea I'm the Tax Man
