Ahh, Saturday. The weekend. When the livin' is easy. And today, raining mist and overcast. That didn't stop the kids from wanting to attend the carnival at church. So we arranged to meet some friends there, and off we went. I bought a candy apple and left them there, armed with cell phones and a wrist band that allowed them to ride unlimited rides for $20. This is a fundraiser for one of the respite ministries at church, so besides keeping a carny employed, the money went to a good cause.

What's funny... my son wore his Boy Scout cap to the carnival. one of the carnies noticed it and said he was in Scouts, but never got past Webelos (Cub Scouts). I jumped on that opportunity and told my son "see, if you drop out of Scouts, you could end up a carny." I'm not entirely sure that is a negative thing to him right now, what with the idea of flipping the switch on rides and unlimited cotton candy at his disposal, but I assured him it was a tough life.

In other news, we (finally) got unlimited texting on our family plan of cell phones. My daughter is making sure I get my money's worth, sending over 150 the 2nd day we've had the texting service. My husband even sent me a photo on my phone of him with a large bass he caught out of a local pond the other day. He had left work early to get to a doctor's appointment, and had time to kill and a rod/reel in the truck, soooo..... I'm trying to stay up with technology, but it's not easy with my vision. (yeah, that's it... the print is too small....) I even joined Facebook the other day at the insistance of friends, and still can't figure out if I'm on my own wall or someone else's. So far, no perverts have stalked me on it, so I guess it'll be fun when I get more friends on my list. So if you know me, look for me on Facebook!
