Tomorrow is the day my husband has his long-awaited sinus surgery to straighten out his deviated septum, remove scar tissue, and make some air passages larger. He is scheduled for 10:45 tomorrow morning, and we have to arrive at 9:15. The surgery should take 2 hours, with about 2 hours in the recovery room, and he should be able to come home tomorrow afternoon. He will be in the Baylor hospital system, so I feel good about that. I am very impressed with Baylor through my own surgery and work experiences.
The ENT doctor told us that my husband would "hate him for a week", but after that, consider the ENT his best friend. There's probably a lot of truth in that statement. Everyone I talk to who has had this type of sinus surgery says he will feel like a new man and wish he'd gotten in done 10 years sooner! I'm expecting the best, but preparing for the worst, as far as him being a ninny-baby puny patient. He tried out whining a little bit tonight. If he survives me not killing him the first 3 days post-op, then he'll be on the road to recovery, I'm sure! Y'all say a prayer for his safety and healing, please! And my patience.
