First Day of Spring!

Yippee, Skippy, it's the first day of Spring! This winter seemed especially long and cold, so I'm glad to see Spring arrive. After a full 24 hours of rain a couple days ago (rarely happens here), Spring has arrived with a gorgeous sunny day, a few contrails from planes visible in the blue sky, and grass that is starting to perk up and turn green. I see why people write poetry for Spring. Of course, I prefer limericks.

Ode to Spring
There once was a girl from Baton Rouge
who made a move "up north" that was huge
but then Spring came
the pretty flowers were her game
and now she no longer rides the luge.

How about this one?

Ode to Spring II
There once was a man from Kentucky
Spring rains made him feel quite ducky
he liked the green grass
oh, the bass he would amass,
but the flowers, he just had to pluck-ee.

(No, DH is not from Kentucky.)

I LIKE THEM BOTH,
I GUESS THE FIRST LIMERICK WITH BATON ROUGE THE MOST.
(I AM NOT GOOD WITH LIMERICKS)
