I got to meet Ina Garten!

Well, here is a photoof me watching Ina Garten to sign a copy of her latest cookbook for me! (I'm in the light blue, with my back to the camera.) It was a thrill! She's acts exactly like she does on Food Network, kind of chuckling and saying things are "faaabulous." I got to see her getting a tour with the store manager, where I heard her say they're prepared foods on display for lunch of take home were fabulous. Later I heard her on her cell phone telling someone "...actually, I'm at a grocery store in Dallas for a book signing...."

Below is a photo of Ina looking up at someone. The lady looking stunned on the left is Mimsie, and we were in line together and compared notes on everything from Ina's kitchen to best-ever recipes for shortbread and pound cakes.

It was a thrill, but it sure was over quickly. They gave out 500 tickets and Ina's "people" said she could sign up to 2 books per person in 2 hours. I believe she did it. It was fun to meet her, and see her in person. She is actually quite petite. I don't think Ina is a smidgen over 4'10" tall! It's hard to tell while she's sitting, but I walked past her getting the tour from the store manager and nearly missed her for being so petite. She seems very genuine, so I'm glad I went.
