I think I'm on cruise control

Thanksgiving went very well for me, eating-wise. I was a bit worried I'd overeat or get sad that I could not eat as much as others at the table. But none of that happened! I took a little bit of almost everything, and ate until I felt full, then quit. I even had a paper-thin slice (2 bites, maybe?) of cake for dessert. It did not cause me any distress as my stomach was full of protein (turkey!) first. I drank water between meals, and none with meals. All went well, and I think I'm sort of on cruse control with this new way of eating now. I was having some episodes a few weeks ago, but I think I've figured it all out now, Bread products or baked goods do not sit well (flour tortillas are OK, as are crispy crackers and pretzels). I was not even tempted by the homemade rolls as I knew it would make me hurt. Who wants that?!

Everyone likes to compare TG menus! We had Smoked Turkey, Smoked Ham, Bacon-Wrapped Grilled Quail, Twice Baked Potatoes, Sweet Potato Casserole, Green Beans, Baby Carrots, Cornbread Dressing, , Cranberry Relish, and Homemade Rolls. For dessert there was a Pecan-Chocolate Chip Pie, Buttermilk Pie, an Italian Cream Cake, and Brownies.

So, things continue to go well. At my visit with my surgeon the day before TG, I'd lost a total of 38 pounds. He said I'm doing great and am on-target with appropriate weight loss numbers. I had a lot to be thankful for on Thanksgiving!
