Today's a Good Day!

Happy Halloween, by the way. I love to see the children dressed up in their costumes, and I love giving out treats to them. I'm always pleased with the ones who think to say "thank you" after you've just dropped stuff into their trick-or-treat bags. Not all do. Lots of people get into decorating their house and yard for Halloween here. That is not my cup of tea. I have a pumpkin that I set in my flower beds (because you can't see it by my front door) once October hits, as a nod to fall. I pull it in Halloween night so it doesn't get smashed on my sidewalk. Then I put it back out and leave it out until Thanksgiving, assuming it hasn't rotted yet. I don't have a very large front porch on this house, basically just enough to get out of the rain, although it is 2 stories high. So decorating as I used to in La. with a bale of hay, 3 pumpkins, and a pot of mums is kind of pointless, in my opinion. We couldn't get through the door if I did that!

But anyway, Halloween is NOT why today is a good day! Today is a good day because I went to try some clothes on at a store today, and I can wear an 18/20 on my top! I couldn't believe it when I pulled it on and it fit! I had to check the tag again to make sure I had not misread it, but sewn in was a tag reading 18/20. Now, for a gal who's been wearing 3X's, this is huge. (Er, small?) My bottoms are still a bit bigger than that, but certainly smaller than it was. I carry my fat in my stomach primarily, so I guess that's the last to go. And, it's only been one month! Yippee!

I meet with a personal trainer tomorrow at our pool/gym. He works odd hours, and it's been hard to reach him. He will set up a plan for me to "work out" (me?! working out! LOL) and show me how to use the equipment. I'm worried if I get on a treadmill without being shown how it works, the floor will skeet out from under me and I'll land flat on my face! And as far as how many pounds to lift and how many repetitions? I have no clue. So he's going to teach me all that. He told me on the phone we may have to break it up into 2 sessions, because they check height, weight, body fat percentages, upper arm circumference and so on. I can't wait to find out those numbers (but only because I know they will improve!)

So, that's why today is a good day. I have no desire to eat any of the kids' Halloween candy they garner tonight. Nothing tastes as good as getting skinny feels!
