Well, yesterday was a very exciting day for me. After more than a year of prayer, discernment, and hoop-jumping, I learned that my insurance company had approved me to receive weight loss surgery! I'll be having a laparoscopic gastric bypass on Oct. 4, will spend one night at the hospital, then go home the next day.
My emotions are mixed and plentiful! In a way, I'm sad it had to come to this. Yet I'm excited to have a new chance at health! I'm a little embarrassed. But I can't wait to wear smaller sized clothing! I'm worried it will hurt. But most of all, I am determined. Determined to follow through with eating plans, physical activity, aftercare provided by the hospital, support groups, whatever it takes to be a success!
