... and I'm about to pass out from this heat. I'm sure you are suffering from wherever in the Northern hemisphere you may be reading this. We rode by the pool today, and even it is abandoned. You know it's hot when no one wants to go swimming!
So I thought I'd post a polar bear picture as my header. Makes me feel cool to look at that blue, cool water. We captured this photo at the San Diego Zoo. But it's kind of pitiful. Being the good Californians the zookeepers are, they've switched the polar bears to a vegan (non-animal, non-meat) diet. They say it helps them survive the relative warmth of the San Diego climate, and the polar bears at the SD Zoo also weigh almost half as much as those in the wild. And I'm sure it costs a whole lot less, too, than to have to breed seals just to feed the polar bears. But I thought it was kind of pitiful they make them become vegans just to stay in a zoo.

What's wrong with them being on a vegan diet? If it's good for their health then it sounds like it's a good plan and probably no reason to feel sorry for them.
