I've been meaning to post an update for 2 weeks now regarding our air conditioning experiment. (See July 8, 2007 blog post) It appears the window unit DH installed in the master bedroom has paid for itself in just one month! It was $199 + tax. By raising the temperature of the downstairs A/C unit to 85ยบ F overnight and only cooling the master bedroom at night, we cut our utility bill by nearly $300 last month, compared to this month last year. That's no small feat for July and August heat! And we're sleeping in cool comfort. (Don't worry, the kids' upstairs A/C unit is still on!)
