An Homage to a Blank Calendar

I have a large, flat calendar hanging on the wall in my laundry room. It's the type designed to lay on a desk. I just run a ribbon through the holes at the top and hang it from a nail. That way everyone can see what is going on, and the daily spaces are big enough to record multiple appointments.

The last few days have been full of various and sundry appointments. Nothing major, but things that needed doing. Returns to Home Depot, dry cleaning drop-off, doctor's appointments, orthodontist visits, you name it.

So I woke up today, and headed to the calendar to see what was facing me today. The square for Wednesday was blank! That means I don't have to be anywhere at a specific time, or pay out money when I get there! We can hang around the house, work on projects here, I can spend time in the kitchen, and take the kids to the pool this afternoon, all at our leisure.

Blank days on the calendar are few and far between. I've come to really enjoy them when they creep up.
