Annoying Emails

I get annoying emails sometimes. I'm not talking about spam, which is indeed annoying. What bothers me most are emails that are somehow tied to my faith in God.

"If you love Him, forward this"

"You have 2 choices: delete or show you're not ashamed of Jesus"

"Say a prayer, then send this to 8 friends"

"Powerful 12-second prayer below, read out loud and let it wash over you"

I'm sorry, I don't buy any of this drivel. While a prayer may indeed be powerful to the person who wrote it, I'm not so sure it is that powerful for me, a different person, in different circumstances, and a different point in my Christian walk. And while I'm not ashamed of Jesus, I refuse to "prove it" by forwarding some silly email rife with sparkling, animated angels and a gif. of Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane.

You want to tell me how much you love Jesus? Share with me what He's done in your life this week. You want to show me you're not ashamed of God? Type an original email and tell others the Gospel, in your own words. But don't' forward cutesy emails with novenas, baby angels, flickering candles, and puppy dogs to me. All they inspire me to do is hit the delete button.

I totally agree! I have started deleting all of those and not forwarding them on unless it is a really powerful message, not just silly pictures and sayings

Just because I don't forward doesn't mean that I don't love Jesus, or that you are not my friend!
